My studio work explores concepts relating to time, cosmos and traditional Chinese literature. Inspired by the Confucius-Mencius doctrines and Tao Te Ching, I am drawn to the simple but romantic philosophy of ancient practitioners, I found that there is a beauty of coincidence between ancient philosophy and modern science, they seem to be opposites, but in fact, they are full of hidden connections.

I am fascinated by the indirect painting methods, and a plain and abstract style is my preference. I experiment with new forms of art and breaking the rules is my goal. By using multiple mediums within art including drawing, printmaking, installation, and video, I attempt to combine an oriental romantic sensibility with a rigorous research-based approach.

Also, I focus on the Space-time concepts from a Chinese perspective, trying to show traditional east Asian philosophy and contemporary social issues, thus encouraging the viewer to reconsider the relationship between humans and nature, then feel the larger universe around them.
