Unit 3 Project proposal

19th May 2020

At the next stage, I will keep focusing on the ideas of Space-time concepts from a Chinese perspective, searching for a balance between traditional natural aesthetics and modern materials thus make physical or virtual work that inspires the aesthetic potential of nature in humans.

Because of the quarantine, I gained a sense of inner peace as never before, I started to notice some normal details that easily overlooked, such as the crystallization of salt and the deterioration of fungi. Although they seem insignificant, they are constantly evolving in their own independent universe. I want to record these spiritual moments of independent individuals at the same time and space. I think the growth of those humble things shows traditional Chinese living wisdom,  “Man takes his law from the Earth; the Earth takes its law from Heaven; Heaven takes its law from the Tao. The law of the Tao is it‘s being what it is(人法地,地法天,天法道,道法自然)” (Laozi,25)  which means people could make adjustments responding to the changes of situation, moreover, to use a submissive gesture to fight against fate.
