Violence

Towards

A Piece of Paper

2019

(5:56)

Thermal paper, glue gun, alcohol

“𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 ”

'Control' is actually a kind of violence. At the beginning of this video, I inflicted violence on the paper-- I used a high-temperature glue gun to blacken it, and then I tried to wash away all the stains with gentle techniques. In the end, it does look white as before, and it seems that violence never happened, but has it really remain unchanged as the previous one? The answer is no.

After this passive "healing" the paper has become duplicity, this situation is the more terrible thing, in my opinion, this gentle "good deed" is actually more violent than "Direct Violence". However, this kind of healing is constantly being performed in society, and I can't help thinking: if treatment can only cover up appearances, who is the person truly wants the wounds invisible?
